Standing out as one of the most original and compelling voices in the UK jazz scene, Sarathy Korwar continues his productions as a drummer, composer, producer, and bandleader. His music fuses jazz, electronics, Indian folk, and classical influences, with a focus on decoloniality, community, race and transcendence. The musician’s latest album, There Is Beauty, There Already, released in the autumn of 2025, garnered praise from the global music press, as The Quietus magazine’s review included the words: “Showcasing the depths to which the drums can reach as instruments for ascension.” Sarathy Korwar Drum Ensemble will take the stage at Salon İKSV on September 29 as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, with the support of the Consulate General of India.
